This new service called Worddesk lets you create a portable Windows installation that you can then save on just about any storage anywhere: USB stick, external hard drive, iPod, Blackberry, Android – yes, it is even possible to place Windows in the cloud via Dropbox. Which (if it works well) might give us something similar to Googles Chrome OS but with windows capabilities.
So far you can only run Windows setup from a computer running Windows XP or Windows 7.
The service is still in beta stage – but anyone who wants to test the service can do so via the manufacturer’s website.
For a sidenote, Microsoft is also working on a cloud based windows environment, very unlike this one but you can check it out here.
