We first heard about the iPhone case with a magnetically attachable battery at the CES this January. Now we have finally had a chance to try it out.
The iPhone case by Lepow which is in “Watermelon green” has a nice smooth feel to it and you can magnetically attach a powerbank to it. The 3000mAh battery can charge your iphone5/5s for 1.5 times, and it takes 4.5 hours to get battery fully charged.
The color is certainly different, which might not appeal to some, but I love it. I think the case itself looks very classy, and it doesn’t become too bulky with the battery on, it still fits fine in your pocket.
This is what it looks like in action:
Having used it for about two months now I must say that this is one of the best cases I’ve ever tested. And I’m sticking with it.
No matter if you use your phone continuously, this case will give you at the very least a full days charge. However I’ve noticed that when charging only the battery from the case, you can still use your phone regularly for at least a few days. So as a battery life extending case, this one is flawless, and way more convenient than other battery cases I’ve tested.
The case itself is actually very nice, the smooth finish just makes it very pleasant to hold. And contrary to what I thought, it doesn’t come of or scratch easily at all. This is all the wear and tear there was after using it quite roughly. There is a dent from dropping it on asphalt from roughly 1.5m, but clearly it did its job at protecting my phone. Otherwise there is a hardly a scratch on the case, besides from the shiny part which started scratching pretty much the first time I put on the battery.
You can get the Lepow Pie for iphone 5/s on Amazon for $49.99, reduced from the regular $89.99.
