Ever get frustrated because you couldn’t find what you were looking for in a store? If Phillips gets its way that feeling may be history.
The technology uses light from the lamps to transfer data. You choose an item you want to find and the lights above communicate with your phone to give you directions where to go. Kind of like GPS but inside a grocery store. Pretty neat.
Philips is already testing its smart illumination in some stores, so hopefully this might become mainstream soon enough.
