Droplet, The Awesome Watering Robot

Droplet is an amazing little thing, essentially it’s a like a Roomba but for watering. It can replace your sprinkler system, water potted plants, fill up the doggy water bowl, or maybe even spray water at unwanted visitors. It’s 100% automatic and can be programmed/controlled via your smartphone or tablet.

Droplet tries to save you money and the world’s water resources by watering only the area where there are plants.
Droplet’s creators claim it can lower water sprinkler consumption by up to 90 percent and save up to $265 a year on water bills. Not bad.

But it goes further than that, Droplet actually knows about the soil, the type of plants it’s watering, and other data to help ensure each plant gets just the right amount of water to be healthy.

Because it has a cloud connection, the Droplet system also tracks weather in your area. That way, it knows if you’ve had a good rain recently, and it can hold off, or if your plants desperately need some water.
