Hi guys, remember the Asus Eee Transformer Prime teardown? We promised you a closer look inside the chips and here you have it. Just check out the link in the bottom and you¨ll be taken to chipworks who have conducted some closer research on the silicon within this wondertablet.
The Asus Eee Pad Transformer prime is a relatively new tablet on the market, mostly known for its ability to “transform” from tablet to netbook with a keyboard dock. It features 18hours of battery life, which is 8 more hours of fun than you get with an ipad. Also it has a quad core tegra, which certainly makes it the fastest tablet on the market. But Asus has received a lot of critic over the past few weeks mainly due to GPS issues and the fact that the bootloader is locked (aka no custom roms). Apparently the GPS issues are due to the fact that the antenna tries to receive signals through a metal plating, which is impossible. And even though the ipad for example is also covered in metal it has plastic openings for signals to pass through. There has been an update to fix this problem but since its a design flaw it can only be tweaked — not fixed by updates.

The research department at Japan’s Ministry of Defense has developed what it calls “the world’s first spherical flying machine” that can hover like a helicopter and fly in all directions.
Take a look at the video below posted on YouTube by DigInfo TV, a Tokyo-based online video news website. Watch as the orb zooms around a room to the amazement of the crowd.
The operator, who remotely controls the aircraft, gives it a few smacks and it still stays afloat — thanks to onboard gyroscopes.
According to the video report, the machine weighs less than a pound, or about 12 ounces, and is made completely of off-the-shelf parts.
The cost? $1,400.
At the end of the video, the narrator says the gadget was made for rescue and reconnaissance.
“As it can take off and land anywhere, it’s hoped that this machine will be able to reach places that were hard to access by air before.”
