Create your own wifi hotspot, make some extra money

This is really clever! If you have a wifi network at home or at your business, why not make some extra cash with it? Especially if you are in a place with no hotspots available you could get a quite decent client base. A company called Tomizone lets you share revenue with them 50/50, they provide you with software for your router and you’re good to go.
I’ve only seen them operate in New Zealand and Fiji but it says on their website you should be able to do it in other countries just as well.

Quite a few mainstream routers are compatible too, heres the complete list.
D-Link DI-524UP
D-Link DIR-300
D-Link DIR-615 C2
D-Link DIR-615 E4 (BETA)
D-Link DIR-600 B1
D-Link DIR-600 B2 (BETA)
Linksys WRT54G (versions 1-4)
Linksys WRT54GL
Belkin F1PI241EGau

And installation seems to be in-fact quite easy, just get the right firmware and follow the guide on your router.

So how does payment work? For your customer, easy, just enter credit card or use paypal. It even supports Boingo!

For you? This is what it says on their webpage.

When your revenue reaches USD $30 (benchmarked to your currency) you can simply choose the Pay Me option in the My Account section of the Tomizone site.

If a customer spends all of their time on your Tomizone you’ll earn the full 50% (eg, USD $1.75 if the customer buys a USD $3.50 day pass);

You probably receive a wire transfer or paypal payment.
Sounds pretty straight forward to me, i haven’t tried it yet but if you have a wifi network in a populated area, why not give it a go?
