Working USB sticks in brick walls? Awesome!!!

Across New York, there are USB drives embedded in walls, buildings and curbs. The idea is to create an anonymous, offline file-sharing network in public space. The drives are completely public and anyone can plug in to drop and download files.

It’s part of an art project called “Dead Drops” by Aram Bartholl and I have to say, it’s pretty awesomely creative. I mean, if I saw a USB stick stick out of a random wall, I’d be dying to know what’s in there. I’d have to plug in. It’d also be interesting to see what people would anonymously share on the public drive,

  • My family all the time say that I am killing my time here
at web, except I know I am getting experience daily by reading
    thes pleasant articles.

  • Spot on with this write-up, I actually believe
this website needs a great deal more attention. I'll probably be back again to see more, thanks for the advice!

  • this will be cool for a few hours, until the first a-hole that can do a google search for easy USB viruses sticks one on there and installs a keylogger on the computer of everybody dumb enough to plug in.

Sorry folks, we don't live in a world of rainbows and unicorns and puppies. If you're dumb enough to plug your computer into this, there's no helping you. Common sense is the best security.

Another observation - this appears to be the IT version of a glory hole.

  • After reading that post from Blake I now feel dumberer, I like how it says "Center for Advanced Learning".
Well Blake, if you believe all that I have a few flash drives I would like you to use. You must be right, I mean who could ever create something that can jump from flash drive to machine. It's not like anyone has created anything that can over come the few points you make. Please ddo a simple Google search to prove yourself wrong. Also read up on BadBIOS and come back to tell me more about the points you made.

  • It is being able to choose solutions suitable for
the needs of the users. I also think that illegal file downloading should remain illegal, aas it is,
and that offenders be pursued, but tthe law of the land should also apply, and if a 10
year-old copies a movie, the parents sould not be fined - they are not
fined if the same kids hit me with crowbar and ssteal my wallet.

Uing Keepass you will generate passwords for everything that requires one.
