Top 8 Tips To Choose The Best Web-host

There are so many hosting providers these days, all of them offer hosting that is almost similar in terms of features and price. So, how do you find the best hosting provider? What can we look out for when choosing the best web host for our websites?

These requirements of your respective website must be met. Including the right features of disk space, bandwidth/data transfersecure servers and shopping cart softwares, email and auto-responders, control panels and support for multiple domains and subdomains

Disk space and bandwidth

Most companies offer unlimited disk space and bandwidth if you’re trying to decide between a company that provides capped space and one that may have unlimited hosting, choose one that suits you the most. While you almost certainly don’t need a lot of disk space and bandwidth, the prices are usually not much different.

Shopping cart and secure servers

If you do business online through your website, you will need a secure server and a shopping cart solution for this to work out. Secure servers are essential to protect the security of your respective customers as they make their purchases using their confidential information.

Control Panel

Don’t assume all hosting providers provide a control panel to its customers to take care of their websites. This is especially true for discounted or free hosting. If your plan does not include a control panel, you will need to contact the technical support team whenever you want to perform simple tasks such as changing passwords or deleting email accounts.

Multiple Domains and Sub hosting

You may want to host several domains or subdomains under the same account to host different websites. Keep this in mind, when it comes to an online hosting provider. Most of them offer this feature anyway.

Hosting experience

Between a company that has just started up and one that has been around for a while, the highest bet would be the one that might have experience. The experienced hosting provider knows how to manage the problems and ensures that your websites are running optimally.

Guaranteed availability

It is more advantageous to opt for an online hosting that offers a guarantee of availability. I’ve found several that promise 99.9% up-time. Anything less than 99.5% is considered unacceptable. While this does not, of course, guarantee that there are no issues, a minimum of those we all know are committed to keeping their promise. Uptime is essential for you; you certainly don’t want your website to be down and inaccessible more often than not.

Location of the hosting company

Choose a local host that is ideally located in the same country or time zone of where you live. This means their data centre will probably be in your area, along with their support team. Having a data centre on the other side of the world may result in slow speed for your site, and you wouldn’t want to look for technical support from a team that won’t respond until a good day later.

24-Hour Support Availability

Find out how easy it is to succeed on their support team in case you need it. Most web hosting companies offer several strategies for contacting them, either by email, phone or live chat. If you prefer to call them, make sure there is someone there to pick up the call. Otherwise, you may get frustrated with having to listen to specific promotional messages over and over again. This is also one of the reasons why you should choose an online hosting provider that is ideally located in the same time zone, as you need to make sure that someone will take care of you if you need immediate assistance.

Although some hosts may claim to provide 24/7 support, they may not be available on weekends. Try sending them an email and find out how quickly they respond.

Remember that price is not the only factor to consider when choosing an online host. It should be one of the last considerations, as everyone knows that quality and satisfaction are not cheap.
