If you ever used Linux you might know of Wine, a piece of software that allows you to run windows programs on Linux. This technology will soon be available for Android too it seems..
Alexandre Julliard, the developer behind the Wine compatibility layer, gave an update about an ARM-friendly flavor of the software and showed off a version that runs on Android at the 2013 Free and Open source Software Developers’ European Meeting.
It was apparently very slow and full of bugs, but then that might be because it is in such a early stage. And it will surely become better over time, just like on Linux OS’s.
