real life minecraft block #3 from Ben Purdy on Vimeo.
You know how people say minecraft players are usualy no-lifers. Well this guy took it to a whole new leve. I guess he didnt like that particular expression so he made it real life. Ben Purdy is the guy that did it, with the help of a projector, a piezo element and an Arduino (of course), turned a plain ol’ box into a real life Minecraft block. Hit the cube with a stick, or anything really, and the projection-mapped image starts to deteriorate and particles tumble off as you mine it. You won’t actually be able to turn your harvested materials into structures or tools but its still cool, check out the other two videos!
