Sound Sticker makes use of the principle of conduction to deliver sound to the inner ear. Bypassing the ear canal, this system sends gentle vibrations through the skull bones to create sound in the inner ear. As such, it could also be used by people whose hearing is impaired.
A main sticker is attached to the body of an audio system (such as an MP3 player, a television, or a radio) and sends sound vibrations to the other two sound stickers. If three receiving stickers are used (rather than two receivers plus the main sticker), they can pick up ambient sound. This feature could allow the hearing impaired to enjoy movies or the theatre. Being free of wires, Sound Sticker can also be used on the move – for example, during sports activities. In addition, the conduction system works underwater.
