Zelda Skyward Sword running on a PC

zelda1 Zelda Skyward Sword running on a PC gadgetzzSome fans of Zelda may have spurned Nintendo by refusing to get the Nintendo Wii, but their love of the franchise hasn’t stopped them from playing the game through other means.

Thanks to an emulator called Dolphin, it’s possible to play Skyward Sword on the PC, with smooth framerates, a high resolution, and graphics that are almost fit for the PC. The emulator’s only limitation is the player’s own hardware.

Here are some screenshots of Skyward Sword taken from the emulator, by players who’ve managed to get the game running on the PC.

Hama Wii LED remote + nunchuck with motion plus gadgetzz Hama Wii LED remote + nunchuck with motion plus gadgetzzBeen dying to get one of those fancy glowing wii motes, but dont like the idea of an external motion plus. Hama has the option, they featured it in their gaming highlights 2011 at IFA 2011. It’s basically the afterglow series wii mote, but with nunchuck and built in motion plus. For the same price, the problem is availabilty. I havent seen anywhere to buy it so far (besides the internetz). SO well there you have it, an alternative to the afterglow but with built in motion plus for wii, available in red and blue.

wii u console only 600 1307468645 Nintendo announces new Wii U, with a unique new controller gadgetzz

Nintendo's new WiiU

Sometime during 2012 Nintendo will start selling new new Wii. It has had many names “Revolution 2″, “Wii 2″, “wiiHD” But Nintendo settled for a very different yet familiar name, “Wii U”. They didnt mention actual internal specs but it will be a 1080p console with an internal flash memory and an upgrade cpu/gpu. It will also support SD-card and usb HDD.

IBM is, as with the original Wii, once again responsible for providing the processor inside. Four USB 2.0 slots are made available, while game media will be served up on “proprietary high-density optical discs.” There’s also another, worthwhile, reminder that the Wii U will play Wii games and their optical discs without a problem.

But most appealing is the new controlling device. They bought back a somewhat more familiar controller shape, but this thing is no ordinary controller. It will feature motion control a 6.2″ touchscreen as-well as a front facing camera.

It also does video chat, and has a web browser, and it mirrors photos/videos up on the TV. Nintendo’s being careful to say the controller is not a portable gaming machine. All the images come from the Wii U, wirelessly transmitted.

Notably, you won’t have to use the 6.2-inch monster if you don’t want too — the Wii U will be compatible with all current-gen accessories and software. Yes, your expansive Wii collection will play on the U version of the console as well. We’ve also seen some decidedly high-def visuals from Nintendo showing off the Wii U’s graphical prowess.

More here, including a video!

wii casemod 04 05 2011 300x225 Nintendo wii UNlimited watercooling case mod gadgetzz

overclocked wii next?

There’s console mods and there’s console mods… and then there’s this — a completely custom Nintendo Wii built from steel and cooled by two liquid-filled containers that would look more at home in a mad scientist’s laboratory. Not surprisingly, this mod took a long time to complete. Bit-tech forum member Angel OD began the so-called “UNLimited Edition” project way back in December, 2009 and, after a few diversions, finally finished it this past weekend. Now my only question is, why hasen’t this been done with a ps3 or 360?

If Ubisoft think this will actually work, well what can i say, it won’t. First of all, who plays wii anymore? second why would a girl want a wii mote in their pants? I’m not sure whether this will ever go for sale, but if it does i might actually have too buy it, only for it’s extreme crappiness. The point being this is a hilarious idea, but i really doubt it would sell for anything but LOLz.
