Although i have seen things like this before, this is something special. Usually technologies of these kind project a keyboard, by lasers or an image. However this one sense what you want to type without there being any keyboard whatsoever. Pretty cool, there’s more info below.
There is almost no dearth to the number of players in the arena for tablets these days. But those who make it to the market are just a handful, it may surprise you. Whether the Lenovo IdeaTab S2110A will make to market expectations is a matter of prudence to check before you decide to go for it. The factors that you need to consider are undoubtedly its price as it relates to the features and utility.
When it comes to plain looks, the product is up to mark that no one will deny. It is quite thin and weighs lesser than comparable products. It also takes a lot less time to boot and that is again a favorable point in favor of the this model. But one thing you may have to consider is whether it can take the rigors of rough and tough use when you transport. Obviously, it seems a little too fragile, but only time can tell how rugged it will stay over a period of time.
This looks like something that would come out of a sci fi movie, but then.. The gadgets that do are often the best. The concept is a touchscreen which can physically transform, ejecting buttons or shapes from the screen itself. In this example the technology is used to make a tablet, or smart phones on screen keyboard become a physical one, in a n instant. It seriously is one of the coolest things i’ve seen, and hopefully we will see it on shelves in a few years.
According to the Verge’s Nathan Ingraham, the tactus touchscreen prototype uses microfluidics to accomplish this feat. Beneath the outer surface of the screen, which appears to be a plastic membrane, are channels for a special oil to flow into reservoirs reserved for the keys of your keyboard. When flat, Ingraham says the channels are barely perceptible. Of course, this being a very very early prototype (and a nascent concept in general), the only pattern the screen can form is that of a QWERTY keyboard in landscape orientation. The idea is to someday be able to form multiple patterns in varying orientations, but for now the company is just trying to get the idea off the ground.

Despite recent advances in 3D technology home computers still use a strict 2D UI, why is this? Probably because 3D hurts some peoples yes and there just isnt any reason for a 3D desktop.
However these scientists thought different because they have created the first 3D desktop environment, and i must say it looks pretty cool!
Users can casually open up the See-Through 3D Desktop and Type on the keyboard or use a trackpad as in traditional 2D operating environment. Windows or files are perceived to be placed in a 3D space between a screen and the input plane. The user can lift up his hands to reach the displayed windows and arrange them in this 3D space.
A unique combination of a transparent display and 3D gesture detection algorithm collocates input space and 3D rendering without tethering or encumbering users with wearable devices. See-through 3D desktop is a term for the entire ensemble of necessary software hardware and design technological components for realizing this volumetric operating environment.
When i first saw these i thought “what a stupid gadget”, but i appear tp have been wrong. Reading the description it appears these stickers that you put on an old “non illuminated” keyboard actually makes it glow, to some extent. Read it, and keep enjoying that old keyboard you just cant let go off.
The Glowing Keyboard Stickers are not “glow in the dark.” Instead, they are made of a high quality fluorescent print that reflects any ambient source of light. Sure they take a little while to put on, but not that long. And sure they don’t work in complete darkness without any ambient light to reflect, but give them some light and watch them shine (literally). The goal of the Glowing Keyboard Stickers is to offer you an inexpensive way to make your computer keyboard as cool as the more expensive light up ones, all the while adding a bit extra reflective illumination to your key caps. ‘But how do we know they really work?’ you ask. Well, that’s easy. The proof that the Glowing Keyboard Stickers really work is all the words you just read above. This product description was written in a dim room on that very same laptop mentioned in the first paragraph – surprise twist ending!
Keep in mind these are only for US keyboards. (more…)
