Internet Startup by Luis von Ahm Gets $15M. You Wont Believe What For. gadgetzz

There are the dreamers. There are the ambitious. Then there are those who choose to ignore the word as impossible all together. With billions upon billions of web pages on the internet in language upon language, it would seem that the initial goal of a more connected world perhaps is not as much of a reality as we would all like it to be. The very idea that the Internet in general would be able to be understood by every individual who has access to it is a little far-fetched…at most.

That’s why an internet startup company named Duolingo, which is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is attempting, you guessed it, to translate the entire Internet. But they won’t be doing it on their own. In fact, you could be part of the process.

printer A Functioning Linux Computer from a Printers Wifi Card! gadgetzz

There is no end to creativity, someone has taken the wifi card from a printer and actually modified it to run Linux! I can’t imagine its a super computer, but the idea is very cool!

The parts come from a Lexamrk X6570 all-in-one printer wich goes for around 100$ on eBay. This printer has with a Lexmark N2050 WiFi card running BusyBox. After soldering a few wires to the USB/UART pins on the N2050, [sjMoquin] had a very cheap but highly useful single board computer running Linux. So far neither the USB or WIFI is functional but the hackers [sjMoquin]& [Julia Longtin] are currently working on that. so a fully functional embedded Linux board based on a printer’s WiFi card should be available soon.

League Of Legends Hacked

league of legends supremacy game mode League Of Legends Hacked gadgetzzLeague of Legends has been hacked, “change your password immediately” says the founder of Riot Games Marc Merrill.

According to the Riot, they got email addresses, encrypted passwords for accounts and some player’s full name and encrypted safety questions + answers. Even if the passwords are encrypted Riot says that over half of the passwords are simple enough to be retrieved.

You can change your password HERE by pressing the “change password” button. If you use the same password on other sites, it may be a wise idea to change there too.

This looks like something that would come out of a sci fi movie, but then.. The gadgets that do are often the best. The concept is a touchscreen which can physically transform, ejecting buttons or shapes from the screen itself. In this example the technology is used to make a tablet, or smart phones on screen keyboard become a physical one, in a n instant. It seriously is one of the coolest things i’ve seen, and hopefully we will see it on shelves in a few years.

According to the Verge’s Nathan Ingraham, the tactus touchscreen prototype uses microfluidics to accomplish this feat. Beneath the outer surface of the screen, which appears to be a plastic membrane, are channels for a special oil to flow into reservoirs reserved for the keys of your keyboard. When flat, Ingraham says the channels are barely perceptible. Of course, this being a very very early prototype (and a nascent concept in general), the only pattern the screen can form is that of a QWERTY keyboard in landscape orientation. The idea is to someday be able to form multiple patterns in varying orientations, but for now the company is just trying to get the idea off the ground.

If you are impressed by the Burj Dubai or Burj Khalifa in Dubai then this will blow your mind! A luxury hotel with 21 stories underwater. Imagine waking up in a hotel room, and instead of getting a view of a city skyline, or beach, or maybe a parking lot, you are greeted by underwater wildlife 200 feet below the surface.

It will be called the “Water Discus Hotel”, and would anchor half of the hotel 21 stories underwater, with the other half peeking out above the water. But whether or not this thing is actually built is a whole other story. As inhabitat points out, there had previously been plans for another underwater hotel in Dubai before that idea faded out, and until construction begins, nothing is ever set in stone. I can also imagine environmentalists are not pleased by the idea of something like this.
