I have to be blunt, because It’s true. Microsoft sucks. First their failed escapade with the Xbox One, the unusable console. Then right after that is over with we learn how they basically sold all of our information illegally to the NSA. This includes all your private Skype convos. Gee that’s great, thanks.
Their bloody activation procedures as well, how is it that only pirated copies of Microsoft products work? That’s ridiculous, and rare at that. Whether its office or Windows, you’ll get shoved in your face that you have pirated the software or that you have failed to activate it. This only happens if you buy their products.. What a joke.
And so if that wasn’t bad enough, this companies arrogance is actually hurting the CE industry. A prime example being Internet Explorer. It’s simple, they lost that battle to Netscape in the 90′s, but oh no, you just have to keep going. Even though It’s obviously a pointless exercise updating a broken product.
I don’t even want to mention Windows 8. Even in beta you could see that this was going to turn out even worse than Vista, way worse.
And Bing search, haha, oh wow. I literally thought it was a joke when it first came out. Oh they are poking fun at Google. Turns out it was a serious attempt, they still haven’t got it working properly.
So why do we keep giving them our money? It probably has nothing to do at all with logic or business ethics. Society works more like an ecosystem, mindlessly purchasing products and following trends, not caring where the products are from or the story behind the people who made them.
Not that Microsoft are the only ones to blame, I’m just rather disappointed really. Such a big company with such a grand history shouldn’t be reduced to this, scamming people. Cause that’s what it is. Nonetheless, Facebook and other big tech companies can be considered just as bad. Even Google, who does actually think of the customers best have done things that are questionable.
So the government wants to watch me sleep, that’s fine i guess. But I’m one of your clients Microsoft, and you broke my trust. Big time.
I won’t even ask anyone to boycott them, or ask them to change. It would accomplish nothing. But if you are reading this, give it some thought.
This is not a conspiracy, several tech companies have admitted to giving out information to different illegal spy networks, like the NSA.
