Apple founder Steve Jobs’ self-designed luxury yacht was launched on Sunday in the Netherlands. Although Jobs himself passed away a year ago, on 5 October 2011.
The yacht, which was created in conjunction with the French designer Philippe Starck, has been named “Venus”. Job’s family was present at the launch in Koninklijke De Vries in the town Aalsmeer.
The ship’s main windows were designed using a special type of glass that Apple stores designers made to support the structure.
With an aluminum hull and exterior as well as its own speed boat, the ship is thought to be both lighter and faster than your average yacht.

French designer Philippe Starck helped Jobs create the sleek interior which features a jacuzzi and 3 meter high window panels for the cabins which are 12 meters long, according to Jobs’ biographer Walter Isaacson. The boat itself is 80 meters long.
On the bridge are be seven 27-inch iMac for navigation. The entire vessel measuring between 70 and 80 meters.
The Jobs family gave each of the members of the shipbuilding staff an elegant thank-you note, along with a token gift of their appreciation — an iPod Shuffle with the name of the ship inscribed on the back.
